Work with us FAQ's

Do you have staff accommodation & Wifi?

Yes, we have staff rooms located at The Skye Inn as well as a staff house 10 minutes’ walk away. Most of the rooms are twin share - perfect for friends, couples, or singles happy to share.

Your rent is taken straight out of your wages at the end of the month, and we also take care of things like council tax, energy bills and even food. Breakfast and dinner are all supplied for those in our live-in accommodation.

All our rooms have WiFi available.

Where can I eat?

Breakfast is provided for staff after our guest breakfast service. If you are an early riser, you can prepare your own breakfast in the staff kitchen where you will have space to store your own food. Staff dinner is served before guest dinner service, but you can opt to have it in a take-away container for later. Lunches are not provided.

There is a Co-op Supermarket a 10-minute walk away where you can buy items for meals you wish to prepare yourself. There is also a great selection of restaurants, cafes and take-aways only a 5-minute walk away.

What can I do during my free time?

If you love the outdoors and adventure, you will be in paradise living on Skye! The island is a world-class destination for walkers and climbers and has endless opportunities for wild swimming, kayaking, camping, and wildlife spotting. There is also a rich History covering many topics, such as: Dinosaur Fossils, Clan Warfare, Highland Clearances and the infamous ‘Bonnie Prince Charlie’ and the Jacobite Rebellion. Both Clan MacDonald and Clan MacLeod have their Clan Castles on the Island and should be on your list of places to visit.

Staff also have free membership to the local gym.

There are also opportunities to hop on our tour coaches free of charge to get out and explore further afield as well as staying at our sister property, Morag’s Lodge, down at Loch Ness. (subject to availability)

When you set foot on Skye, our amazing team will be full of local knowledge and handy tips that they can share with you.

What amenities are close by?

The post office, banks, bus-station, cafes, restaurants and shops are all a 5–10-minute walk away from The Skye Inn.

What are the top 3 things about working at The Skye Inn?
