Getting to the Isle of Skye
We are perfectly situated in a quiet corner of Portree, within short walking distance of Portree’s main square and harbour.
Once you have arrived in Portree, follow these directions from Somerled Square.
Skye can be reached within a 5 hour drive from the Central Belt and you can arrive via the Skye Bridge or on the ferry from Mallaig. The ferry crossing takes around 45 minutes. Alternatively, drive north to the Kyle of Lochalsh and cross the iconic Skye Bridge. Both routes are absolutely stunning, so you may wish you arrive one way and depart via the other.
Scottish Citylink operate bus services to Skye from Inverness, Glasgow and Fort William (May – Oct). The bus arrives into Somerled Square in Portree and our accommodation is a 10-minute walk away.
Service times & bus ticketsFrom the first roundabout when you arrive on the island, take the A87 and follow this road all the way to Portee. Journey time is approximately 45 minutes.
When you exit the ferry port, follow the A851 to Broadford. Join the A87 from Broadford and follow this road all the way to Portee. Journey time is approximately 35 minutes.
